Just pulled the trigger on this classic commem for my fledgling Whitman short set

I just had to hit the Buy It Now on this 1926 Sesquicentennial.
For an AU the coin sure seems to have some nice luster, and the strike is just hammered for the issue. Even some of the MS64 and 65 coins I've seen have very weak strikes. Best of all, I know the seller is a Forum member and usually offers high quality coins.
I'm having a really hard time starting out on my budget-minded classic commem set. I'm willing to overlook light wiping or cleaning if the coin has an original look, I'm attracted mostly to the various designs versus high grades, and I plan on storing them all raw in an old Whitman album. I managed to find this Long Island for a reasonable price, too, but in general even the lightly circulated coins with a pleasing look (like this Boone or this Lincoln) are selling for just a few bucks less than low Mint State coins, and I can't bring myself to justify the cost.
Since I've limited myself to eBay so far, my next step (unless a terrific coin like the one in the topic drifts by) is to try and get to a couple of shows and look at some coins in person. I'm wide open to other avenues to investigate, or any other advice from the Forums.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.
