Everything looks fine to me. Can you be more specific?

Let's see. With a little more detective work, I see it has been 3 1/2 years since this eBayer was active until recently selling one coin -- a worn 1922-S Peace Dollar which is worth melt but apparently BIN'd for $50 to another user who hasn't been active in almost a year. That is a bit odd...

Yes, I'd agree. This is a little more sophisticated for a hijacker to sell a coin and get good feedback before pulling off a deal.
Not sure what ebay can do in a case like this. If someone can point out where the photo was stolen from they'll take care of it. Also, I've alerted people their account was hijacked with a simple question that was routed to their e-mail. --Jerry

A deep look shows that some of the FB was left too rapidly. We either have some super-fast USPS delivery times or we have scammers. I would guess the latter.
My guess is that there are several accounts involved; all jacked by the same gang.

Definitely a scam. The seller only has 1 feedback after apparently being inactive for years. The person who left that feedback has "bid" on 3 auctions in the past month. link One of the other 3 items he "won" also has a suspicious auction going for an NGC Saint right now. The whole thing reeks.
I consider myself good at locating pictures stolen ... Cant find the $5 NGC coin ... Unless it was YEARS ago like when the accounts were active ... There is a ugly possiblity. COuld not find it in the NGC regiatry either
Also, check out how quickly feedback was given for these... the Sac auction ended on the 14th and feedback given on the 15th. It's not often the buyer gives feedback before he receives the coin. 2 days for feedback on the other one...

the only real ugly possibility would be if he really does own this coin and the auction was legit. Not likely in this case in my opinion. I sent a question about the coin today and got no response.
So are "posse" ebay id's sacraficial and get naru'd after use or does ebay look the other way when the seller is a scammer?
Hey it worked, I contacted ebay and got this response.
Thank-you for writing eBay in regard to the seller you are reporting.
Our initial review leads us to believe that this listing may actually be the result of an unauthorized account takeover. We have since removed the listing and are now in the process of restoring the account to its true owner.
For your protection, please be aware that eBay discourages all offsite transactions, which are initiated by parties other than the seller and the winning buyer in a completed eBay listing. Sales that take place outside of eBay carry a potential fraud risk and are not eligible for eBay services, including feedback, contact information requests, and the eBay Fraud Protection Program. You can review the services provided through the eBay Fraud Protection Program at:
In addition, we do not recommend the use of instant cash wire transfer services such as Western Union and MoneyGram, and we ask that users decline sending payment in cases where these are the only methods of payment offered by the seller. Generally, if payment is sent using an instant cash wire transfer service and the item is not delivered as promised, no recourse is available for recovering funds. In most cases, an escrow service should be used when purchasing high dollar value items. More information on the benefits and risks of individual payment methods can be found at:
Finally, if you are purchasing a high-dollar item, we highly recommend that you use a verified escrow service to make the payment. For more information on using an escrow service, please see the following help page:

<< <i>Uh...why? Is this a stolen image? A hijacked account? I don't get it. Am I missing something here? >>
you can clearly see that's a fake NGC holder and a fake coin inside and a fake person selling it..
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

Check the feedback, the last coin was bought by another hijacked account????
Someone may be out a lot of money.
I think ebay has live help if you really want to put an end to this.

Excellent point.

I think that "nothiscoin" is a member of the posse-- This deal will not go through

As a general practice, EBAY is much harder on folks who meddle
on the side of right, than they are on scammers.
Happily, there is little that the venue can do to stop experienced
do-gooders.

There are a couple of these ID's that have been jumping in to scam auctions for four years and have not been NARU'd yet.
