I gave up too....can't see the dates without a glass anymore unless they are bright red and
brand new! Have a blue Whitman from the 60's as well and have it complete less the 09s vdb.
All the others I was able to find in circulation. I sure don't have much invested but will make
out when I get the nerve to sell it. It's my first collection so it will be hard to part with. Might
just leave it for the wife to put on E-bay (she's trained).

I do. I've been on the hunt for the perfect slider 1915-P for two years. It's not easy being picky.

good question, i purhcased this collection a few years ago from
someone who had bought out a flea market full of carded coins back in the 70's.

i know the person i got them from never searched them for anything special (other than possibly 55dd)
    and i sure haven't.
so depending on how long cherrypicking has been going on i would say these are about as close
to unsearched as can be obtained anymore barring a hidden hoard appearing.

HEY! how'd you get one like that??! They offer training somewhere? What's it cost?

Don't tell anyone, but me and my 9 year old son spent 6 hrs. on Saturday loading up a couple of Harris Albums the Mint use to sell back around 2000 (I found tucked way in the back of a Barnes & Knoble). It was rainy and cold outside. *perfect* penny weather!

While I had to set up some Halogens on both sides of us + I had to give Danny the 6X to confirm my 10x spotting, it was a hell of a lot of fun.

We even found a couple of error coins, including a 1952 with this 'copper-turd' just under the 9 and 5, still stuck to the 9.

I have no doubt it is a die error. I will futz with a camera and try to up load tonight.

    BTW, I HATE 1956-D'S

....oh and please don't tell any of the Platinum Boys I was here, OK?
