Whitman denies buying Stack's

The online edition of Coin World has a quote from Mary Counts of Whitman denying that Whitman has purchased Stacks. There are no details. The comment is contained in a story about Whitman buying the Baltimore show, which mentioned the rumors posted in this forum.

    I'm actually typing this in the lobby of the Salisbury Hotel just next door to Stack's (man does this guy get around or what?!!???) so I'll just go over and ask - you guys wait there -

    Was the Whitman-Stacks story going around anywhere but here?

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
