Another E-Bay user to add to the block list!!

This was a very interesting one, I'm sure James will chime in later. James took on consignment 2 sets of FS SAEs. This bidder won both sets and paid with PP. Well with the holiday and the PO being closed today the user contacted James and wanted to cancel the sales. Seems he is buying SAEs and GAEs from dealers, trying to turn them for a profit and if he can't turn them in two weeks returning them for a refund. Basiclly using a dealers return policy as a free way to get coins to sell.

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

<< <i>You mean he's doing like some of the guys here do with the US Mint's return policy? >>
No these are PCGS slabbed and graded coins. Getting a coin from the mint raw and finding out it has a problem is a whole different animal. He is basicly saying, give me your coins for 2 weeks, If I can't sell them and make money you have to take them back.
That stinks.

That's actually not a bad idea for these new issue mint products. I'm sure this bidder isn't the only one trying to play this game.

But he has 100% positive feedback
Block'd. I don't sell this sort of material, but block'd anyway on general principle.
The only real solution for eBayers is to sell this products without a return policy. It goes against all tenets of customer service, but otherwise sellers will just get burned.

Said he bid up the coins knowing he could later return them. I asked him if i could buy stock from him like this, and he laughed and said that's not how it works. i told him that's the same in the coin market. Don't use people.
The sad news is he lives 4 miles from me and we could have done much more business. Homes run $750,000+, so this guy should be smart enough to know this scam won't last forever.
Had I not refunded the guy, we would have had a major paypal dispute, which is not worth the hassle.
I just wanted everyone on this board to know what he is doing on high end coins, so if you sell this type material and don't wnat someone using your coins for 2 weeks, then I'd recommend he be blocked.

I'd make sure my paypal acct was drained and I'd make this guy go thru all the hoops in getting his dough back. That way i could USE his money for 45 days and I'd still have the coins.
I'd give him his refund minus some pct for restocking too.

Actually, no returns for graded coins!
I knew it would happen.
<< <i>Thanks, he's been blocked
I'm just wondering how you dug up a 10 month old thread...
Dan we have a 'search' feature.
