Post a coin you purchased because you thought it was undergraded

Cent is in an OGH and IMHO deserves a higher grade. This coin is way better than others I own in the same grade.

It's hard to see in the photo, but the coin has a full rim, and that is why I thought it should upgrade, and it did.

Its in a MS66 holder. I think it might be a 67 and should be FS.
<< <i>2 grades that's a wowzer. How much price difference? >>
Bought from DLRC for $1325 (non-auction). PCGS 62's bring around $2300 to $2500.
Keep in mind that crackouts are kinda like going to Vegas - nobody talks about losing - I've also had my share of losers!

Cracked it out, sent it to NGC, they graded it MS64BN. BS!
Cracked it out, sent it to PCGS, they just graded it MS65RB.

66RB - That 27-D is clearly a 65. Whether or not it's a BN or RB is hard to say, but no way is it a 64.

This coin shows you how difficult it is to determine redbrown.

I agree with the grade now, the strike is really good for this date and mint. Apparently NGC does not take strike into account as heavily as PCGS when determining a grade to assign. I think it is borderline RB, in hand it has just enough mint red to receive the RB designation.

It's now in an MS66DCAM holder.

This one had been in an XF-40 holder...
I could go on and on....
'dude
I think this may go 65 and if so triples in value...
when I did a "guess the grade" it got many 65's, a few 66's etc...
I hold the coin as a "nice example" either way !

<< <i>None of the coins in my collection are undergraded...none of them are overgraded. I bought each and every one of them at the "right" grade, ie, MY grade on them--regardless of what any paper lable might say. The plastic grade will no longer be relevant 15 minutes after I decide to buy a coin anyway due to cracking. >>
I have to agree with this I buy the coin not the holder......

I think this is one of the OGH that would have a good shot at an upgrade, but the price difference in 64-65 is not great. On a side note shylock and I encountered a guy at FUN that had a 90% complete set of 65 red IHC's. Many of them were in OGH's and good update candidates.
90% of the coins I own are not slabbed.
was an ANACS MS63RB up until the last baltimore show.
I'll pay way over sheet sometimes for coins that are "undergraded" on the slab if I like them enough.
I like the fact that I paid MS64 money
for this one.
