He's making a change, to sell mostly pcgs & ngc graded coins. I spent $1,130.00 on his pre-legit coins.

Morris was a seller to dmplrainbow. The negs are from dmplrainbow's buyers.

The auctions where the negs are showing up didn't go for big money.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Maybe IMO if those eBay buyers had a link to those threads here about "dmplrainbow", they would be able to pursue an action against eBay for "aiding and abetting" "dmplrainbow". Now I'm not a lawyer, but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. image

He won my 1957-D Washington in PCGS 67 a few weeks ago. Took 14 day's to finally get paid. Said minor heart attack then sick? I got paid so left a positive with a little disclaimer. My feedback is on page 2.

Russ, what makes him a slimeball -- asking you with complete sincerity -- as I do not know Mr. dmplrainbow's past presence here or on eBay.

    What I do know:

I was tracking a 58-D Franklin in late October. Coin was auctioned by an eBay powerseller and sold to another eBay dealer for about $46.
Two weeks later, said coin re-appeared as a dealer number 2 auction with a BIN of $699. I thought that was quite a mark-up, but the coin did not sell. A week or so later, dealer number 2 puts the coin out there with a starting bid of $9.99. Bidder dmplrainbow eventually won it with a high bid of approx. $480. I asked dmplrainbow what he thought was so fabulous about that coin.

His response:"That Franklin hasn't seen the light of day for 5 years".

He refused to elaborate further, then said that he and his wife were very sick. Perhaps that's why he's missing all his deliveries and racking up all the sudden negatives.

What's the real story? Does anyone know anything about this mysterious Franklin half? Inquiring minds wanna know...

He has a long history of blatantly editing images to deceive buyers. Besides the usual saturation crap, he would edit out blemishes and problems, and even ADD stuff to coins. Once, while adding stars to a gold coin, he added one too many in a completely wrong location.

IMHO, the guy is everything that is wrong with eBay. Too lazy to make an honest living, so everything is cooked, doctored or just plain misrepresented. Ebay needs to douche this perp. image

I bought one coin from him off of ebay a while back.

Kept the coin he sold me and then let it go at about half of what I paid for it. The coin in his auction pic looked like a dmpl Morgan that wouldn't even make a PL grade when I got it in hand. Juiced the photos big time. If the cert # hadn't matched I wouldn't have know it was the same coin.

I may be from the country but it only takes one time for me to learn my lesson.

He may be having health problems right now but that doesn't excuse the way he did business prior.

    Avoid this seller.

I fell prey to the heart attack routine from a mail order dealer years ago. It cost me $1000 for that lesson (when that was about all the money I had). After months of recuperation and very few returned calls from his "secretary," he just disappeared entirely.

Now, Deuce, I think we're talking about more than one person that is manipulating images. And the pic that Bubbah was referring to was taken and posted not by dmplrainbow, but by chubberchub. For he was the seller in the now-ended Franklin auction in which dmplrainbow was the winning bidder.

Actually, I kinda liked ole chub. He was easy to deal with, he didn't mind a little negotiation on his prices, and I bought six Franklins off him this year.

However, the last three I purchased, the toning was disappointing compared to the pix he had in his eBay listing. I liked one 57-D with splashes of orange all over the reverse, but the coin, in hand, was merely an average mint-set toner.

Look guys, there's something more important at hand than a guy manipulating his images. The point is, there are very honest, hard-working dealers out there that know their stuff, hustle around buying mint sets, proof sets, cherry-picking the right coins, doing an honest grading assessment, investing in good equipment and honing their coin photographing skills. They don't fool with the images.

Its the good guys that lose because of this other stuff -- because the bottom line is, we collectors have to make a determination as to whether its worth it to buy coins over the Internet anymore. And if I am making that determination, maybe a lot of others are as well. Which means, as far as business goes, the good guys lose.

I'm sure this issue has been kicked around on this board before. Sorry if I sound like a grinch. But that's how I see it.

The stories and excuses given by some of these Ebay scammers are hilarious sometimes. It seems they are on their death bed when it comes sending out the merchandise, but they always somehow seem to make it over to the bank to deposit your check or transfer over your paypal payments.

This dmplrainbow guys excuse about the heart attack and his wife being so sick is just pathetic IMO. If he's able to respond to emails, he should be able to refund peoples Paypal payments.

danged right pardner ! Thats the high bid supercar made on the coin.

Me , Bubbah , watched the coin sell on ebay to Chubber for 35$ ..........then I see`s it for sale at "buy it now " for $900 or so from

this Chubber . Then it comes up in a "real" auction and I bid`s a token amount to get my feet wet ,,,,,,,, but frankly- i am stupified at the image of the coin .

looks now like a rainbow from another word it do !!

Well i know`s old chubby tweeks his pix more then just about anyone and I been watchin` this DMPLRAINBOW shichestier for some time.

    so i kicks back and watches . A coin that anyone probably could have won for a bid of 50 bucks now becomes a bidding slaughterhouse;

seems just because it`s got a new picture .............

and this Chubber and DMPLrainbow dude`s seem to got some kind of scam runnin` - maybe one in the same person for all I know .

Anywho , this DMPL conman is bidding up other coins to freakishly high levels; sometimes with no one biddin` agin` him !!??

So the coin sells for some goulish price , I laugh to myself ., some people asks themselves why

And as far as i can tell .......old Chubber has dropped out and DMPL is on the lamb ....
