Modern Jag will die down........

What is really wrong with the boards? Nothing? You guys all
collect coins be it modern or Pre whatever you consider not
modern. It will die down a bit, right now, there just seems to be
some easy flipping and fun with the new Mint issues. Believe me
if all the dealers out there could cash in on it and sell the next
best thing they would.
One thing that really gets me is widget talk or the use of "widget"
let me tell you this a "widget" is another excuse by a dealer to say
we don't need those right now. Same thing with the objections to
buying at auction what you like or need. If you know what your are
doing then what's to prevent you from buying anything from a,
whatever this is, widget to a classic rarity?
Putting QDBs comments from CW on this board only brought out
the ire in people. He would like nothing more than to see the
$350,000,000 or so that went into Mint issue gold cons, might I say,
some of the nicest issues in a while go to CLASSIC COMMMEMS OR
some other part of the rare coin market.
Have fun some of you guys are great fun to read stay in budget.
Regards, Michael. The preceeding was a humble opinion. image

Jag? The sharpness of the spree these boards are on with
modern titles and subject matter. Or a really neat car when you
get past the x series. image

I spent $50 today on a few proof sets. In PCGS plastic, the 64 half is a PR69 Cam non-AH, the 68 half is PR68 DCam (drippy cam), and the four 70 halves are all Dcam, with two going 8 and 2 going 9. Two of the Lincolns with typical 70 target toning are 8 Dcams. The rest of the coins are boring. Why submit the halves? I know the raw supply is dwindling, I know the collector base will grow, and I know they won't ever be worth less than $50. I'd be in a hurry to submit and sell if I thought the coins weren't collectible, wouldn't be sellable later, or were a financial hot potato. They're not, IMO. I like my chances of a strong ROI, and I like the coins.

Today's moderns are tomorrow's classics. How can any coin with the mintages we are seeing lose value over time?
