I'm led to believe the second thing stemmed from his treatment for the first.
While this is somewhat interesting, I don't see it materially affecting the current reputations of either the man or the company.

I'm honestly not trying to play it up or down, just repeating second-hand information I've read on other forums from people who actually know the man. Acknowledging both your opinion and your expertise in this area, I guess we'll just agree to disagree on this one?

I see nothing to disagree with in Sean's statement. He specified neither the current reputations of JT or PCI, but simply stated that the reason for his disappearance is unlikely to affect those reputations. Personally, I wasn't affected by the CPG delay. Last I met JT was at the Denver ANA at the SSDC meeting. He seemed contrite with respect to the CPG debacle and was looking forward to re-establish the JT people knew before things went south for him. Considering the current reputations of both PCI and JT as having fallen from grace, perhaps they are a perfect match for each other, as fivecents intimated. He now has a chance to clean up both his and PCI's reputations. It's a tall order, but I wish h im success.

I see now the confusion over my initial statement - the "this" was meant to refer to the news of JT joining PCI, and not the nature of his earlier problems. Like you and fivecents, I don't think their association alone will do anything to rehabilitate their individual reputations, but perhaps working together they can pull off the trick. Thanks for succinctly stating the same thing I awkwardly tried to say above.

Before the CPG debacle, I wouldn't have hesitated to do business with JT. He didn't know me from Adam but on several occassions, he shipped me my purchase before I had even PayPaled the money to him. JT made me feel like I was his only customer. Yes, JT fouled up with the orders of the second volume of the CPG but there were also others involved in that project that had to know what was happening and their silence was deafening. . .

I am glad he is recovered but will no business with any place that he is associated with ( not that I did any with PCI anyway

I had similar experiences with him when he still had Stanton books, even talked with him at length a couple times. At one time I was trying to track down a copy of Wiles' Kennedy book and was having no luck. As soon as JT got some copies in he picked up the phone and called me to let me know.
