  i thinks pvc on clad is a death sentence...

  remove the pcv and you have what looks like a pot-hole in an asphalt road.

  Dipping in acetone and rinsing with distilled water works well with silver. I am not sure about clad coins.

  Verdigris and PVC are different are they not?
  
  I was told Verdigris is pretty common on copper coins and comes in active and non active forms.
  
  PVC hits silver and is always detrimental.
