    So where's the poll?

    Put me down for "no".
    When in doubt, don't.

I blew the poll image , but there were only two choices:

    1. No, we have used up allotted space on this topic for this quarter.

    2. Other.

No. I'm still trying to read all of the threads about First Strikes, Gold Buffaloes and 20th Anniversary Sets. I'll never be able to catch up. image

Did those other IGWT threads just go *poof*?

I do wish the mods would just close the threads rather than deleting them. There was some good stuff in there, amongst the flamage.

We can do that but I would ask that no more be started. It's true, you really can't answer the question with out the why and the why takes the threads way off topic.
Also, I will return and lock the most active ones only as there were just too many.

they did indeed delete them and they need to quit screwing around and be consistent; either shut this one up or leave the other run. they were no less non-coin related and probably contained more good natured-ness than this, yet it remains.

and as i said in the last one to vanish, allowing some to stay and others to go sets a bad precedent and cheapens the forum, while also showing the moderators for what they are. bias is bad, especially for someone in a position of authority.................

well, get used to seeing this one since it's more about the OP's than the topics around here. sad but true. the moderator deletes sopme and responds to another??? what's up with that??
  • It's official. This forum sucks.
  • RYKRYK Posts: 35,799 ✭✭✭✭✭
Despite that the focus of this thread is completely different from the rest that went "Poof", I would not be the least bit disappointed if this thread vanished.
  • keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
no, it's a good forum with randomly applied rules which suck. the people are mostly good.

How do you figure that? I have no relationship with the moderator/PCGS/CU.

it remains as off topic as the others. off topic is off topic, especially when the off topic topic is the same topic..................i think!!

Keets, no need to bash PCGS or their employees in their own house.
  • Locking/deleting threads that are clearly coin related is total b.s. This is America, folks. Most of us don't agree with one another on pizza toppings let alone the important stuff. If we can't talk about it in the context of numismatics (and YES, there is CONFLICT in numismatics) we might as well not talk at all.
  • I guess I misunderstood the request in this thread. I read it as a request for the threads to be brought back for viewing.
As for playing favorites, I deleted them all. I read this one and thought the request was reasonable and responded.

If you guys don't want them back then they can go poof again.

  • Deleting coin related threads was silly in the first place.

Not all OT is the same. OT in which people are beating each other up over politics and religion is obviously not tolerated here. Other OT, where there is no conflict, appears to get a little more latitude, as it should.

I would just like to understand what the word "God," that appears on all current US coins, MEANS.

does the word refer to the God of the whole solar system, or just the God of Earth? Is it the God the Christians believe in and worship, or those of other organized religions?

Why are the names of other mythical supernatural beings omitted from our coinage? We do not proclaim our "trust" in the God of the Sun? The Goddess of the Moon?

    these questions haunt me.

Actually, Carol, this was a facetious thread mocking all of the other IGWT threads. image
