OT: Can anyone reccomend a free photo-manipulating software?

  Here's what I use:
  
  GIMP for Windows
  
  It's not quite as decked-out as Photoshop, but it's probably the best free software out there, and it's got just about every feature you could want for coin pictures, I think.

  If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

  I second "The Gimp" I've used it for years with Linux and it's pretty much the best free thing going, however, it has kind of the photoshop learning curve. The good news is there's all manner of free help on the internet.

  Another vote for GIMP. I switched from Photoshop to GIMP and there was some releaning but it's great once you get the hang of it.

  Gimp is probably the best known although I found its interface confusing. If you really want a simple one you might try paint.net. It's here to download for free

  By far, the best free manipulation software is, IMHO, Picasa. Give it a try

  It's not free but I found a guy on Ebay selling photoshop 5.0 for $99. It's not the latest version but it's a good package for the $$$. I still use 5.0 and I'm very happy with it.
