Farran Zerbe and the 1921 Morgan...who was the guy?

Farran Zerbe seems to be a rather enigmatic person...having 1921 Morgans specically stuck on his behalf as a "friend of the Mint."

Appearmatly he also sold gold tokens in 1904 at Louisiana Purchase exposition in New Orleans and at the 1915 San Francisco Pan Pac Exposition.

A wooden Post card from New Orleans, Louisiana Purchase exposition marketed by Farran Zerbe

1904 expo card by Farran Zerbe. Listing in James Lewis Lowe's "Standard Postcard Catalog" (1982), page 98:
-Zerbe, Farren [sic], Gold Dollar Legal Tender on hickory hemlock, wooden souvenir card, $32.50.
That value is among the highest for all items listed for that expo.
