Ever see a rainbow Peace with face obliterated in NGC holder??

How did this coin get in an NGC holder. You cannot see Liberty's face--totally obliterated. Can't be from flash photo. What could have caused this very strange rainbowing that actually removes devices on the coins????

Addendum: I see what's going on. The pic with face obliterated is from reflection off the holder. Other pics show face more clearly.

i bet in hand sight seen coin does not look (weakly struck) like this

also i see it got a bump (in grade) for the color

Ah, I could tell by the look of this one before even seeing the holder, it was from the 3144-3145 "Hoard."

It's the method of photography, IMO. I bet with a real camera and light set-up, you could get some nice pictures of the coin. However, IMO, scanners have never been able to get good realistic pictures of uncirculated coins, though they are alright for circs.

1924 Peace Dollars often come from heavily eroded dies. These coins do, in fact, look like that coin appears to be.
