This forum....

Imparts knowledge, encourages the hobby and in my humble opinion adds something to my collecting experience.
I'm not eloquent or smart eneough to put it in words.
Question is: What joy/sadness does this forum bring to you? jws

  • It brings me great joy to be able to answer just about any numismatic question I have, just with the Search function, because someone knowledgeable on the subject has already discussed it here.

It brings me great sadness to see it proven time and again that considerable disposable income is sometimes not accompanied by either wisdom or class.

No sadness to speak of, image but it's great to see so many passionate collectors and dealers.

i think you said it quite eloquently.

I think your question is a really good one.

The bottom line for me is I give much more consideration to what's going on. I occassional bump into threads on topics on which I have no experience and learn things. I like contributing data and info and my experience as I hope it's helpful to others out there.

I also enjoy the humor--invariably I find something that makes me laugh or smile.

    Happy Collecting!

Maybe it's pathetic to admit, but all of my friends are here. Aside from one local metal detecting buddy who I only get together with sporadically, these forums are my entire social life outside of family and work. My other local detecting buddy (who I get together with even more sporadically than the other one) happens to be a member here, as are my two pre-Internet friends from when I lived in North Carolina, so pretty much everybody in my social circle who isn't a family member or coworker is here.

The behind the scene shenanigans and cutting up that we do through PM’s brings me the most joy.

I have learned so much here, made some friends, and have improved my coin skills trememdously. This forum has been great.

  • The general goodwill and how people bend over backwards in giving informative answers never ceases` to amazed me. It still surprises me how much people know here on these forums. Alot of great information.

Also some of the fights are good reading reguardless of what side, if any you are on.

I don't get to really HELP to many here, not being an expert. And the fact that the experts help so freely makes me happy to be a member here. Even if I'm more of a image than anything else.

(Old man) Look I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, “That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah”.

(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?
