Please Explain This to Me

I've never submitted coins to PCGS for grading, but will be doing so shortly. I'm going to submit 5 coins under the Economy Grading level.

I plan on submitting 5 coins (minimum) so the total cost to me would be 5 x 18 = $90. This is the cost irrespective of the coins actual receiving a grade or not.

Am I correct in my assumptions.

Thanks.

  • Yup. You pay it even if they bodybag the coins, so be very sure there are no problems before you send them in.

The total cost is more than 90 bucks. Insurance and shipping both ways also.

Right, which is why you need to be pretty sure a coin will not come back bodybagged before sending it. Either that or send it to ANACS or NCS if all you want is authentication.
  • If you bought cheap, random raw coins on Ebay, I can tell you from experience that half will come back bodybagged and have a description of "cleaned"
