Hard to tell in the pics....do the reverse proofs still have heavy die striations?
Edited to add: Nice coins too! Glad you got them and are happy with them. Still waiting for my 2nd (or is it 3rd?) batch to come in (had friend order them for me).
<< <i>I really like the look of the reverse proofs. I didn't think I would based on the images I'd seen, but in-hand they are exceptionally attractive.

I've got a RP68 that I could give you in place of your commission if you really want
<< <i>if you could definitely tell the difference between 69 and 70 you would be a millionaire (maybe a thousandaire) >>
Ok, on this one, I can comment.....I sent in 4 OPENED Reverse proofs (ie...I could ID them). I also sent in 5 unopened sets. All together in a larger box.
I got 1 RP Pr70 from the opened ones and 1 from the unopened ones. I got some RP Pr69 and some RP Pr69. There are some of them that you can't tell any different from the 68-69-70 and especially the 68-69 or the 69-70 (yes, there are some of the RP Pr68 that you can).
nice coins and nice pics. my submission ran the gammut. 1 68, 2 69`s and 1 70 on the reverse proofs....... all had the "straitions" (or whatever the spelling is), it must be something with the planchet?

I would vote for the SAE reverse proof as the most difficult coin to photograph. I wonder if the expert photographer's agree. None of them seem to have posted a photo yet--or did I miss it? --Jerry

I consider Russ one of the "expert" photographers when it comes to coins.....he took a pic that is of a coin in his auction right now (mine, which is why I am not posting a link or the pic itself). You can go take a look and judge for yourself if you want.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

So, good luck telling the difference.

I promise to give that idea all of the consideration that it merits.
