AE 20TH ANNIVERSARY 3-COIN SILVER RETURNED

I purchased one of the 20th Anniversary 3 coin Silver set and received an email that it was shipped on 10/20. I still have not received it. Today I received another email saying that the set had been returned to the mint and that my credit card will be credited $100. I checked the USPS tracking number and it says that there is no record of this item. Whats going on here? I never received it so how could I return it. I called the Mint's customer service and the lady checked my order status and even she didn't know what happened. She said that she will have another set shipped out to me and that it should arrive in 10 days. I feel that I 'm going to have some problems with this order.

My order shipped on 10-30 and I still have not received it and I am rather concerned.

It is quite annoying that they can't have stuff delivered in a timely fashion. I have not received an email stating that the set was returned (yet).....

Amazing that they still have not figured out how to ship material.

Does make me concerned that they returned your set.....

I wish they would only use fed-x and USPO. I have yet to receive my 3 coin sets shipped last week DHL. I know they would have been here by now through USPS.

Mine showed shipped on the 27th and it's not here yet. I called the mint yesterday and got the "there is nothing we can so until the 28th!".
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    Q: What's going on here?

A: The mint makes beautiful coins--everything else associated with the process (IMO) is messed up! The number of screw ups cited in this forum over the past three months is suggestive that their entire interface with the public needs a complete overhaul. It appears that they are incapable of keeping up with the demand from the numismatic community. Their internal controls are aweful. Their packaging has been haphazard. Their 'customer care' personnel couldn't care less.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties.
    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!

It probably arrived, they either neglected to leave you a notice or the notice got lost, it sat at the office awhile and was finally retuned to sender because it wasn't picked up.

Mine were supposedly shipped on 11/2 via Registered Mail. I have not received anything yet and the USPS tracking number indicates "no record of item". I called the Mint and they said they will send another to be if I do not receive the original package by 12/2. They also said that there have been problems with tracking packages, but would not specify what exactly the problem is.

This did not give me the "warm and fuzzies" that I will get may 3 ASE sets anytime soon. And if I dont, I will miss out on First Strike (TM) and possible Big Bucks (TM) for the Proof and RP coins. image

I guess I was in a lost for words on a previous post but what I wanted to ask is what company is doing the shipping? USPS or DHL? Both companies will attempt several delivery if the item needs to be signed for.

My first delivery was with USPS, the next one with DHL and the last one appears to be DHL again (not arrived yet)

Mine showed shipped USPS Registered on 10/13. I received them about 11/2. The postal stamps all over the package was 10/19. Regitered mail comes via covered wagon.

Sometimes the mint will get the wrong address. If it is undeliverable it will go back.

    Update:

I just received my package today. The Mint (via e-mail) said it was shipped on the 2nd, but was postmarked the 9th!! image

I still can send them in for Ultra Modern Crap First Strike (TM) service -- is it still worth trying for the Reverse Proof PF 70 lottery, or are prices dropping like a rock now?

  • Back when Philip Diehl was Mint Director shipping was very timely, much improved over what it had been. That may have been one of his priorities. It seems to have slipped a few notches since then. image
