Will anyone be posting a "Best of 2006" thread for these boards?

Now that the year is winding down, is anyone going to be posting a "Best of 2006" thread, where people can list their views on the Best Newcomer, Best Troll, Biggest Story, etc., etc.? We've had a big year, and the stories have been very significant. For example, I am trying to decide which story was bigger-- MOC coming out of the closet as a doctor, or Coinguy1's alleged banning, which set off a flurry of sympathy posts, including the lighting of candles and board members publically asking the Lord to help us through those trying times. Who usually does the end of year post?

I agree. You seem to be the forum historian. Heck, I even forgot about the Coinguy1 banning. Make sure you make note in the "Best of/Worst of" thread of the return Poe58 for a very short time, the travails of Derek2100, and the shuttering of a previously related forum that caused great controversy.

There wouldn't be any doubt who had the best give-away would there?

Thank goodness for me they don't have the "worst of the year" image

I think the best newcomer is all locked up at this point image

Add some of these to your year in review:

    Fletcher v. Darin
    First Strike Controversy
    Bullion Fever (Buffaloes, AGE, ASE)
    Continued AT/NT Debate
    OF Closing & Blue Fish
Banning of some long time posters
    MBT's mission accomplished
Minnestoa State Quarter DD 1-65 now?
    Marty's inverted "S" Kennedy's
    eBay bannings
    Legend Auctions open
    Book and Matt's accidents

Sure there are plenty more both good, bad, and sad.

I thought these types of posts were more appropriate for the "chat" feature. image

What about Coinguy1 getting Frattlaw to return the long-lost coins of other Forum members?

The endless Proof Gold Buffalo threads?

The Gold 20th Anniversary Set coinage, the quick sell-out and the huge price increases?

The gold and silver 20th Anniversary set and the Mint's parsing of its wording in press releases to justify issuing more coins at $110 less than the price of the 2-coin set?

The Silver 20th Anniversary Set coinage?

  • Two of the more funny threads in my opinion were 1) the very quickly deleted thread from a woman, I think named Linda in FL, looking for some companionship and 2) the Superior auction $1 BIN issues. Both cracked me up.
