Nothing in the auction ad saying what kind of gold, gold color/plating/solid/kt. wt. nothing. Could be 6 micron film of gold. That's very, very thin...1 oz. of gold will plate about 4,000 tokens.
The coin can be had for about $100 cheaper than this guy wants. Its certainly not GOLD lol. its either die cast metal or plastic. It is quite rare though. Better to purchase it sealed in the package with an original figure. This coin could only be found on the DROIDS figure packs which came out well after Return of the Jedi. The figure craze for Star Wars was very saturated at that point. (I got my Boba Fett as a mail in offer several years earlier, and yes, I still have it lol)

Is the coin value in the age or content?

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be age and the incredible popularity of Boba Fett.

I guess it's for registry sets for ages 4 years and up.
Astonishing price for a stamped out token.
But look at the one in auction...does not say 1985...loks like 1994 or something...???
Edit: don't tell me we have Star Wars Scammers!
