I hate John Cougar Mellonhead!

Please make that commercial of his stop! They play it 3000000 times a game, and it drives you nuts. No idea what it's even an ad for - I have to change the channel every time I hear the opening notes...

    It is an add for chevy. John is a great guy I met him back in 96 I think, when he was doing a commercial for MTV/VH1. the commercial was being shot on the estate that i maintain. i was an extra in the commercial and he and I chatted it up for almost a half an hour. He let me play his guitar and acted like a regular joe. His wife was hot too. ;-)

    edit to add: the song and ad i can't stand is the ad for chase with mick jaggar. even if my wife is a VP for chase I still can't stand that damn song/ad

    I like the song and can tolerate Mellencamp when he sticks to music and out of politics, but I have to admit, the commercial is REALLY starting to dig into my skin. It has played in practically EVERY commercial break today through the first two games I've watched so far. I'll bet it'll still be playing when the Pats/Colts game come on too.

    Damn - 4 times in 37 minutes? I knew I wasn't losing my mind...

    And, Mellonhead is a sellout and a phony for getting involved with this mess. Of course, any publicity (even bad) is good for Chevrolet, who deperately needs to sell their gas-guzzling hunks of junk to someone, anyone.

    I like him. Saw him in concert once at the old Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto and he was very good. Remember one of his first hits "Ain't Even Done With The Night"....what memories that one conjures up for me.
