What's the best way to send items back to the mint?

I ordered both a proof & unc $5 gold and was very disappointed when both were dinged up, presumably due to both being out of their cases when they arrived. I had toured the old mint back in 94 or 95 and I really looked forward to this commem.

So I am considering sending them back to the mint for a refund. Although I've been buying mint products since 1990, I've never sent anything back.

Is it best to simply insure the item or better to send it registered?

Thanks for your thoughts.....

I use insured with delivery confirmation and have NEVER had a problem! Registered can slow it down and costs more anyway. Good luck. Maybe the next batch will be better?

  • I use Registered, as of chance of losing it.
