Email address changed by Mint

Did anyone else have their email address changed by the Mint? I received an email indicating:

Thank you for updating our records at the United States Mint
. This email is to confirm that we have received your
request to change your customer email address on record to
the new email address below.
If this is in error, please contact the United States Mint
at 1-800-USA-Mint(872-6468).

Customer #........:

They changed it to an email address I have not had in 5+ years.

I promptly called them and got it changed back. She said they were switching to some new software and it must have picked up my old address. I checked their site and my backorders are still there. image

I would guess they had a system take a dump on them and they did a series of restores badly. Or they did install new software and reran transctions, again badly.

My advice to you is to call them back again to insure that your backorders were not updated to the bad email address!

Its a government entity and you know how badly things can get messed up!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

They have done this to me at least 4 times in the past year or so.
It keeps going back to my old address and shows the old address in my profile on the Mint site.

What's crazy is that I always get their emails at the correct address.
The first one of these I got made me think someone had jacked my account.
It's just something in the software causing it.

  • After I placed my online order for the Anniversary sets I got an email about my email address being changed. I went back to the mint site and changed it back. It didn't cause any problems with my order. Kind of freaked me out though.
