Poll AGE profits, where did you spend the $$$?

For those that have already flipped their AGE sets for a profit, where did the money go? Or where is it going to go?

/edit the topic header and bump for the morning.

That is a handsome Dahlonega Half Eagle.

My profits like all others after coin purchases?

    Fast Women and Slow Horses.
  • I purchased an 1846 D/D $5 Dahlonega and and 1893 CC $5 from Doug Winter.

    Yep, got mine for free.

Wish I would have bought more, then I could have some profit.

Where's the "buy a 46" LCD HD TV"? image

(extra to go to help my brother out)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • I bought my 1 set for me. Its not for sale. course if somebody offers 15, or 20 k I might not be able to say NO.
(Old man) Look I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, “That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah”.

(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?

    I bought:
    (1) 2003, 2004 and 2005 platinum PCGS PR69DCAM proof sets (21st century)
    (2) 1853 BG-524 PCGS VF-30 california fractional gold piece. (19th century)
    (3) 1776 Machin's Mills Halfpenny PCGS F-12 (18th century)
    (4) some funds left to acquire something from the 20th century.
    (5) Special chewy biscuits from Petco for my favorite dog
A Collectors Universe poster since 1997!
  • I added a fun stuff option to the poll. The current replies would put three into that category, not sure what they voted for in the old poll.

Looks like the AGE is adding some oomph to the coin market. More than half the people are putting the money back into coins. Multiply that by 1000s of sets being sold, and that adds up.
  • My profits are going to mostly other coins. I really hated letting go my set, but passing up that much profit would be silly.

And so far the ASE set is doing well for me too! I will be keeping several ASE sets for my personal collection though.

I may buy a set of AGE PCGS 69s when/if the prices come down. I think the FS designation by PCGS will be big later on.

    Swest

Coinhog, Love that crusty old beauty of an original coin and
yours sure do look the part. Nice, very nice. I am trying to find
my way back to (2) two that I sold. One Dahlonega and one
Charlotte, I needed the money at the time. I hope to get coins
as nice as you two guys have. Soon.
    Regards, Michael
