Just some thought on the 20th Ann Silver Eagle Sets

.I believe that the silver sets will on a percentage basis
do better then the gold sets for the following reasons.
1. At the lower cost, many more collectors can afford several
sets to tuck away or give as gifts.
2. The looser quality control of the outsourced packing
and mailing, means that a high
grade of 69 or 70 will be rewarded with high multiples
3.The first strike sets, with high grades, will be unusually scarce
as most sets will be delivered after the 11/11/06 postmark deadline
4. It would seem that a 69 set accross the board, in First Strike,
could break thru 400 dollars a set by the first of the year.
5. A 70 set, might well stagger the imagination.
6. Anyone that gets even a single 70 from PCGS is sitting pretty. Dont sell
just tuck it away for an annuity.

Why aren't there more PR-70DCAM?

The reg proofs are from the W mint; for them to receive a PR-68DCAM .........wow
thanks in advance,

mailing of the silver sets. The quality control over this service,
was not as good as that shown for the gold sets. The rough and
ready handling of the silver sets and the popping open of the capsules
as well as the inadequacy of sufficient packing materials
could have been the main causes of so many 68s and so few 69s and 70s
on the Silver Sets.

1. There are a staggering number of these sets, easily enough for anyone who wants one to get one. Most already have.
2. The SAE anniversary sets seem to be riding the tide of the popularity of the GAE anniversary sets.
3. This game whereby the Mint creates a product that gets hoarded by speculators, an artificial supply shortage is created, and the speculators make multiples of their investment cannot go on forever. Think Cisco in 1999.
That said, I have not yet decided what i am going to do with my sets. Keep them, sell them, grade them, leave them closed, open them, give them away, etc.

The 69 sets are already bringing in over $700
700 dollars, that is inspirational. Almost makes
up for the grading fees.

<< <i>just think of all the nice coins that could be purchased with all the funds given to pcgs for the grading of brand new coins.. its all the bigger fool theory and pcgs is laughing all the way to the bank >>
Agreed. But..... you can choose to laugh along with them to the bank (or not). The market seems to want to reward the First Strike designation, regardless of what some think about it.
sometimes, you just gotta go with the flow.

in 69 grades, are looking like a better and better bet. It appears 69s are going
to be tough to get and 70s, will be like pulling hens teeth.

<< <i>Here's the first pr70 reverse proof pcgs, I appologize about the bad scan, I have picture deficit disorder
>>
So you're the one with the 70. last i checked the population report there's only one graded. nice score. I'll trade you a pr70dcam for it
Wondercoin.
Price wise, we'll probably see the same thing that has happened with the Gold set.
Although, First Strike, might remain high due to low numbers, and the fact that there is confusion as to what is the true cutoff date.
I think it will take a year for prices to start their accent upwards. Let's face it, if they are still sending the Gold set after a month, with only 10,000 sets.
The Silver will probably take the rest of the year.
Wonderful picture.

No MS 70's and I don't think there will be at least from PCGS. I don't have the regular non first strike populations because I don't know where to find the numbers.
