Another GAE Status thread . . .

For those of us late to the party; i.e. sometime on the morning of 8/31, the cancel box has disappeared from the listing.

23138xxx

AE 20TH ANNIVERSARY 3-COIN GOLD RBU SET 1 unit backordered. Expected to ship on 11/06/2006. >> box deleted <<

I guess they are taking extra care to be sure all the later coins are "70". image

    Mac,

For sure they saved the best ones for last !!! Plus maybe they'll have figured out it helps to make sure they are solidly placed in the depressions in the velvet so they don't bounce around.

    Wish you the best.

My cancel box is still there. image
  • Does anyone have an idea as to how many sets have been shipped and how many are left to be shipped?I won an auction on e-bay and the seller says it still has not come in.thanks,scott.
  • For that ebay auction, it might be wise to ask what their order number is and when they placed it. I think the sellout notice went up on the mint website around 10am EST on 8/31.

    OH MY!

After checking for nearly two months, my cancel box has in deed disappeared. image

The pathetic thing is that the mint rep who I have on the phone while typing this still stil is saying the same drivel I've heard all along--

However, I just spoke with a Mr. Gardner who described himself as the senior manager. When asked if the cancel box having been removed from the order means I'll be receiving my sets, he responds:

<< <i>'that MAY mean that the prospect for cancellation is taken out of the equation....that represents the first stage in the process...that the credit card so far shows as clean and there are no apparent obsticals toward this going through. HOWEVER--THAT CAN CHANGE.....I've seen it occur where the cancel box has been removed on these, and the orders not go out as anticipated....I am not willing to commit to saying you will receive your sets...I realize that it is a lot of money...This has been very tight, and that there is indication that deliveries from West Point will occur again next week. HOWEVER, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN...We've been disappointed before on this before, and people get very mad at us here when that happens...I will tell you that the next update to the system is due to occur Monday late afternoon and you may want to check back then. >>

I thanked him for the clarity, and his being specific--something rarely afforded me in many previous inquiries. While no committment, at least it helps me anticipate this correctly and properly gauge my expectations.

    Hopefully this is helpful
    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!
