Missing board member? update FOUND

Htubbs volunteered to send in a SC$ of mine to ngc with his submission. He sent a pm on Aug 1 to let me know the coin was received. I haven’t heard a word since. Tried to reach him here and sent an email thru his ebay account. Nothing.

I just looked up his ebay feedback and the last coin he sold was not delivered. My guess is something has happened to him. He had over 4000 post on here, but nothing in the last couple of months.

Please let me know what’s up. If it ain’t good, I’ll turn the page.

FOUND: The SC$ came in the mail today, still raw, with a check refunding the submission fee. I'm happy and whole.

Hayden is an honest kid, Im sure he is just busy with school and such.

I've sent him tons of coins to sell, photograph, and send away and never had a problem. Though, I have not heard from him in a good 2 months. I know he gets really busy during the school year, but I hope nothing did happen.

    Good luck with your news.

Didn't this kid have a problem with winning more auctions than he was willing to pay for on ebay?

Over two months and you still haven't seen your coin or heard from him? Sheesh....don't ever use a boy to do a man's job. image
Hope it all works out orie.image

I have purchased from Hayden as well as sold to him. It always takes a bit longer than I'd like it to, but he comes through in the end.

If you would like his phone number, try Google. I think it might be in there image

That I find troubling. If that's the case, then there is obviously nothing wrong with him and there is no excuse for not responding to Orie.

Checked on ngc and he was last there on Oct 8. That's about the time I tried to reach him. It's also about the time he went missing on ebay.

If he doesn’t show up it’s not big loss, but it is sort of odd of a kid who was so active to disappear. Maybe because of his interest in toned Morgans he needs a breather.

Tried his telephone number no luck.. I’m going to put it to bed and he’ll probably show up on spring break.

<< <i>Folks, just because some of you may have had positive experiences with this member does not excuse his behavior in this instance in any way based on the facts I've read. Heck, even Accugrade has a 98%+ positive feedback on ebay. Doesn't mean they are great sellers or buyers to deal with. >>

I'm not defending bad behaviour - and I think that, short of a great reason, Haydens behaviour is bad - but 6 posts, 4 of them negative, make it look like you've got it out for the kid. What's up?

Hayden's back and posting in the BST....I'm going to send him a link here so he can clear things up with Orie, if he hasn't already....

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

<< <i>Let me say that I don't know the member in question. I vaguely know that he posts here and that's it. I have NOTHING against him personally. I am judging the situation, and that is all I'm doing. And based on that, I find his behavior intolerable. We're not talking about 2 1/2 weeks here, we're talking 2 1/2 MONTHS. That is UNACCEPTABLE. I can't fathom a scenario under which I would not have responded short of being in a coma. >>

Here's a possible scenario for you - the original post said "Htubbs volunteered to send in a SC$ of mine to ngc with his submission. He sent a pm on Aug 1 to let me know the coin was received". If that means that NGC received the coin on or about August 1st, it might not have been graded until long after that. And, until it was graded and shipped, there would be no urgent reason to update Orie regarding its status. So, the "2 1/2 MONTHS" you mentioned might actually be a MUCH shorter time period.

<<It would be nice if he would post on this thread.>>

I agree and suggested that to him by PM earlier today. image

Yes, I recall some big stink occured some time ago involving Mr Tubbs. I don't recall the details, but I do believe everything ended well.

    Hi guys,
Just to let you know,I spoke with Orie on the phone on Saturday and things are cool now.image
For those of you who where wondering about me, I've also been on vacation with my family for a few weeks. We were in DC for a while and then stopped by to see some relatives in North Carolina. My health has not been all that great lately and I think I might have picked up something while we were out,I was sick in bed for most of last week. Hopefully things will clear up and I can get back to normal...image

As for the negative, that was completely my fault and I'm already in the process of working things out with the buyer.image

My experiences with Hayden have been good. I actually have something to ship to him but I was awaiting his return as it is my understanding he was away on a family trip. I received a PM last week so he should be getting back on track and caught up again. He probably just bit off more than he can chew, which a young man his age can sometimes do.

Orie, I am sure he will get it squared away with you. Hopefully, Hayden will take the opportunity to respond here since a thread was started and square it all up and make it right.

    Update?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

So I guess you are relieved at the outcome, but from the information given it certainly appears that we cannot absolve Hayden from being at the very least inconsiderate, irresponsible and possessing of poor communication skills. This is unfortunate.

After all that's happened, spending time and money to mail the coin and then worrying for a month as to its fate, I'd be pretty pissed off if I were in your shoes.
