What's the story with this Buffalo nickel????

I've had this nickel in a box for years and years, since I was a kid, about 39-40 yr ago..along with a Barber dime my dad had given me, and a British half penny dated 1967 (which I was given by a friend of mine from London that very same year, when it was brand new).
I don't know what compelled me to look at it after all these years, but at first I wanted to check the date, and couldn't see one. Then I noticed that the nickel was pock marked and I thought it was corroded, so I just put it down on my desk. Later on, I glanced at it and noticed that it wasn't corroded at all. What do you think of this nickel????
