Silver Eagle Insanity as it relates to Grading and Slabbing and a question

I decided I'd like to pick up a slabbed, uncirculated, 20th Anniversary Silver Eagle to include with my uncirculated collection. I figure they can't cost too much, right?
Wrong. They're going, heck I can't tell what they're going for. The prices are everywhere on eBay. $150, $250 and higher. For a slabbed, uncirculated 2006 Silver Eagle.
The only thing special about this coin is the SLAB says 20th Anniversary Coin. The best I can tell the Silver Eagle in the 20th Anniversary Sets are the EXACT SAME coins as the 2006 uncirculated Silver Eagles. The Mint web site says this:
Note: The American Eagle Gold and Silver Uncirculated Coins will be available as individual coin option beginning September 28, 2006. These coins will be minted to demand.
So where is the premium in getting a slabbed 20th Anniversary Coin? I already have the Gold/Silver 20th Anniversary Set. I'm not slabbing the coins. There's no reason. I want it original.
If the coin is no different that a zillion other silver eagles (coins will be minted to demand) what's so special about the designation? I'm guessing two guys are over the sorting bin. One guy is stuffing 20th anniversary sets and the other guy is filling individual orders. With the same coins.
Are we collectively insane to pay this premium?
I'm voting no with my wallet. I'm not buying. I just thought it would be a cool addition to the set at say cost plus slabbing fee plus shipping.
Don't get me started about the MS70 20th Anniversary Coins.

I say it isn't. The foxes are in charge of the henhouse.
