Any thoughts on Canada $300 Gold Coin - Crystal Snowflake

Canadian mint is selling a new $300 face gold coin today with embedded crystals. Anyone think this one will be popular? Limited to 1000

Got a pic? I'm not sure the embedded crystals will hold up well in circulation. image

Strange looking coin, but maybe it will find a market. What are the crystals made of?

Limited to 1000? Jeez, these guys are worse than the U.S. mint about encouraging speculation.

Here's the details...seems odd to me that they would make it out of 14K

    Mintage: 1,000
    Composition: 14-karat gold (58.33% gold, 41.67% silver)
Finish: proof (with six Swarovski® crystals on the reverse)
    Weight (g): 60.50
    Diameter (mm): 50
    Edge: serrated
    Certificate: serialized
    Face value: $300
    Artist: Konrad Wachelko
Reverse: Scientifically referred to as a dendrite ice crystal, the beauty of this snowflake is embellished with six glittering Swarovski® crystals.
Obverse: Effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

I was interested until I saw the gold content, and the price $1500 plus.......

I will stick with my $3 golden beaver.
