Anyone else having a hard time with the Stacks/ANR site?

    They're clearly messing around with the DNS for their sites. DNS stands for Domain Name Service, and is the master index that lets a browser know what physical machine to talk to when you type in a machine's name. The problem is, changes to the DNS are not instantaneous, and may take several hours to propagate.

    If you absolutely can't get in any other way, try http://64.179.87.27/, which works right this second but may stop working (or direct you to any other random web site) at any moment.

    I needed to perform a search of prior Stack's auctions today...no luck as the archives are only for ANR. It does feel strange to see the Stack's name on the ANR website.

    It worked OK--but was the hardest site to use I;ve ever seen-- GEESE---4 lines to dsing in, then you have to OK the Email

    Then you really have no idea of ranges of values on some oddbal stuff. Then much lesswhat on earth their grades mean! My representative eventully
    said "just tell me what to bid"===end of discussion!!!!!!!!!!. Then Stacks provided zero infornation on paperwork or history--a $20,000 question
    tht went unanswered for several bidders! Hard time??? Idiots, IN MY Worhless Humble Opinion (not countung the $16000 the seller didn't get, due to the lazy attitude about paperwork)

    I was more shocked when I called them on the phone today and they answered the phone "Stacks."

    In answer to the original question, the web site is a little sluggish, but working.

    Went through most of the Norweb lots without a problem.

    Went thru seated stuff ok but rather slow, about 3X slower than before. A couple of nice seated halves.

    Looks to be alot faster if you enter via ANR.
