El Cajon Show Today -- Got VAMs

The show in El Cajon (outside San Diego) was interesting. The place was pretty packed. I didn't have too much of a wait at tables but a little here and there. For the number of dealers there, this being a small show sponsored by a local coin club, it was good. Kids were even there! The dealers I spoke with were pretty consistent in relating that it was much busier than last time (May) but people spent less overall cash and were more selective. The big thing was they were showing coins and people were buying. Some weren't finding what they needed but were nonetheless prepared to pay for it. For a guy looking for VAMs, that is never a problem. The lighting was poor in the place; that is the single frustration. I slummed it through the raw, 2x2s and junk boxes. Here's what I managed.

Quite a haul. And I don't do VAMs so I won't be competing with you if I make it to the next one.

Here is the 23-P. The rim is cud up below the date, but does not involve the date. An $11 buy.

<< <i>The 23' is a VAM 1AD... had a few in MS.... nice haul... >>
Ah, you meant the cuds. Ignore the part of the PM where I thought you were saying the 1Y (23-D) was 1AD. I am still a bit loupy. R-6 on that one is pretty cool. Will have to watch out for an MS.
Also on the show topic itself, I have to also mention that the food was fair in price and apparently in quality. I only got a soda (50c a can -- not bad on a bourse) but the custard pie was very tempting.

Great haul! The VAM-1'O' is the toughest 21-D of the set. That has been surprisingly tough to find.

Might do FUN, but you got Baltimore. Of course you have a lot of eagle-eyed guys like Jack out there to compete with.
