New Purchase: 1839 NGC AU-55 Toned Reeded Edge Capped Bust Half -- How Do You Like Her ??

I am pleased to have purchased the following 1839 NGC AU-55 Toned Reeded Edge Capped Bust Half tonight. She sure appears to be pretty from the following auction photo. We'll see how she looks in person after I receive her. image

    Andy: Are you referring to the "Small Letter" Reverse Variety?

    I would have loved for this coin to be of that variety, but it would have cost me lots more... image

    Yes. I've only owned one of those over the years. A fellow board member mercilessly relieved me of it perhaps 25 years ago. One day, I may forgive him.

    Thanks for all of you kind posts containing positive feedback on my most recent 1839 Reeded Edge Capped Bust Half purchase.

    It has that original look, combined with pretty strong strike through most of the central devices, especially on Liberty's hair and shoulder clasp, as well as on the eagle, which I find appealing for this type.
