  Proof Kennedys are minted in S.F., CA. If you are asking about the designation on a certified proof coin as DC (Deep Cameo) or CA (Cameo)? I guess I don't understand the question.

  If by 'design' you mean minted, then there were no Kennedys ever minted in Washington DC.
  
  If the coin has a D on it it was made in Denver.
  
  If the coin has an S on it it was made in San Francisco.
  
  If the coin has a P or no mintmark, it was made in Philadelphia.
