"2006 Reverse Proof (Gold & Silver) coins will not be sold as individual options, only in the Anniversary sets," according to an Oct. 2 statement released by Beeky Bailey, director of the Mint's Office of Public Affairs.

Yes but reading that statement carefully suggests they could sell it in a 2 or more coin set . Never trust the Mint.image

BUT.... he also says "only in the Anniversary sets".....

and the Mint was pretty consistent in saying the sets were limited to the numbers given.

I'm glad to hear that a Mint official made the statement. It does make me feel a little more confident they are not going to pull the rug out from under us on the reverse proofs. Although..... I am still cautious and would not be surprised......

I do think the Mint did some thinking after all the cancelled orders....... it was a wake up call. Hope they really plan to do take it to heart.

Just curious...with the mintage at 250,000 it seems this will be a key to the Silver Eagle collector.

I'm just wondering with returns due to damage, will the mintage be affected?

    Thanks,

    Chris

The quoted statement was made by a spokesman NOT a decision maker.
