Post the nicest coin image you've ever seen

shylockshylock Posts: 4,288 ✭✭✭
...and explain why.

It can be your own, don't be shy. Or it can be from anywhere on the web.

I go through saved images in my files on a regular basis and this one always blows me away.

1793 Wreath Cent taken by forum member nic. The design is classic and the image is perfect. (sigh)

I don't have the picture, but someone.... hmmm... maybe it was barndog posted a Gigantic Picture of a Half Dime about a month or so ago. Even on my T-1 line it took minutes to download. It was unbelievable.

Image by RussView™ I think Russ did a great job imaging this through the PCGS holder and still capture the colors on this coin.

Not mine - the coin or the image, but to me, this is about as good as it gets in imaging coins. I like the way the lighting was defused to bring out the subtle hues, and it makes the coin as 3-dimentional as you can get in a two-dimentional world. Reminds me of a John Singer Sargent oil.

Not sure this may be the nicest image I have ever seen, but here are 2 that I think show the coins very nicely.

Many talented people here with nice pictures but this one stilll stands out in my opinion. Shot by a forum member and it is his coin.

I haven't seen any yet that come close to nic's image that combines detail, accurate color and great lighting
on an incredibly beautiful coin design.

But keep them coming, I can be persuaded.

Shylock, For a "perfect" image, the top of the 1793 LC picture is too out of focus for me.

I am very proud of this image:

The top of the 1873 (LIBERTY) isn't out of focus, it's weakly struck.

I agree that this is the finest image of a lincoln I've ever seen... the coin itself lends a lot to that, I'm sure!

Interesting that most of the images that people think are the nicest are brass ... Maybe because the exposure is tricky.
