AGE backorder date changed to 11/6/06

I just noticed my order for an AGE set placed on the 31st has a new backorder date of 11/6 instead of 10/6. Anyone else see the same?

Yes, my backorder changed to 11/6/06 for the gold set. However, my silver sets -

AE 20TH ANNIVERSARY 3-COIN SILVER RBU 10 $100.00 $1,000.00 10 units shipped on 10/13/2006

According to the FedX tracking, it was shipped on the 12th and will be delivered today.

Do you think they moved the date back 30 days to account for the 30 day return policy. I would think they would hold back some of the gold sets to replace sets returned for an exchange. After 11/06/06, they will know how many they will really have on hand to complete the issue.

I think the mint is under the gross misconception that some buyers will return their sets.

In my opinion the dates on the mint's website are meaningless.

One supervisor and two operators I spoke with this week told me the mint hasn't finsihed delivering the AGE sets to the distribution center. More should be on their way next week.

The thing that bothers me is why can't they communicate that, instead of keeping everyone in the dark.

Correct. I believe 10/26/06 (or close to there) is the end of the first strikes

You have a point, but I'd rather they just said NO and be done with it. Preferrably right after I hit "purchase" back on 8/31 would have been nice.

Now I have to move my fishing trip to November, just in case I get hit with a $26500 credit card bill on 11/6.

For the kind of money we as collectors spend, I don't think it's unreasonable for the mint to provide a higher level of customer service.

People need to anticipate one way or another--but the mint is filled with a bunch of turds who don't appear at all concerned about that--

--just line 'em all up an' take their money!
