These are not collectors for the most part. And the few that MAY become collectors in the future will become turned off to collecting when this scam completes its cycle. Too bad.

Sounds to me like they have already started dropping in value. When they first came out a couple months ago they were were going for more than that on the Bay.

This has become and annual occurance. At the mid year toy convention some toy becomes "THE" toy for this this Christmas and everyone tries to buy it. It disappears from the stores and the only place it seems like you can get them in on ebay at big markups. The first really big one I remember was the Furbies. The differeance on Elmo is that they started the sales in the stores earlier and had teir production ramped up to be betterable to supply the demand. this is beginning to lead to a glut on the market and the speculation prices are starting to fall.

Sorry to say but I am one of the nuts. I bought one for my grandson off Ebay. I bought it a few weeks back and gave $65.00 plus shipping.

I admit, I bought one for $80 for my newphews birthday.

but the smile on his face every time I see him play with it makes it worth EVERY PENNY!

It'll probably be in the crapper.
