I feel there comes a point in ones CU career when a "grade this morgan" thread is required so here is mine

Thanks for the indulgence

AU-55

Edit: Now that I have both contact lenses in, I say AU-50

Hard to tell from the photo but I will guess AU50. The hair above her ear and the eagle's breast look little flat. The tone looks nice though.

Looks from AU-55 to MS. I can't tell from photos.

Dog97 · October 12, 2006 2:57AM

I grade the picture XF-49.

eyoung429 · October 12, 2006 3:02AM

EF....most philly coins are well struck and in the pic there is a lot of detail that just doesn't bode with an AU grade...especially the hit on the hat....

ziggy29 · October 12, 2006 3:04AM

EF-45, shot at AU-50. I think it would make 50 or even 53 with an O mint mark because of the usual mushy O-mint strikes.

I'd say XF 40, maybe 45 but I'm hard to please.

At least my wife tells me that.

How about an obligatory AU. . .

50-53.

ABC123 · October 12, 2006 7:13AM

AU 53 !

Bochiman · October 12, 2006 7:14AM

My initial thought would have been low AU. Looking at the eagle's breast though, and a few other things, I am in the EF camp. Maybe XF45

DennisH · October 12, 2006 7:19AM

AU50

Heywood · October 12, 2006 7:22AM

XF 45- Unless the photo is blurry, the breast looks very worn. Also some in the Hair above ear and Brow.

Obv looks a little better
