I spent a couple of hours going through a local dealer's recent purchases and got these coins, all in mid to high mint state
1880-S VAM 8
1882-O VAM 7
1882-O VAM 17 A (Thread on this one from earlier today)
1887 VAM 3A EDS
All for $ 140.

The 82-O 17A is a sleeper that I personally really like. The coin is a die disaster. The 3A EDS is a bit tough, as I know you know; see one EDS for every 10 LDS if that many. As for $140, depends on the grades as to how good of a deal you got. Great VAMming in any event!

The 82-O 17A is a sleeper that I personally really like. The coin is a die disaster. The 3A EDS is a bit tough, as I know you know; see one EDS for every 10 LDS if that many. As for $140, depends on the grades as to how good of a deal you got. Great VAMming in any event! >>

That 17A is a coin in pain, that is for sure. The coins are all unc, a couple may be in the 64/65 range. The 3A is avery pretty and believe it or not is the second one I have located in the last month. Maybe someone had a roll locally and is selling it to the dealers. The clash in the hair vee is the strongest I have seen. All in all, on eof those days when you look at 100 coins and find four keepers that makes up for those days you look at five hundred and go home with all of your money in your pocket.
