With supplies on ungraded sets appearing to dwindle in the past few weeks, raw prices have been rising again and PCGS graded sets are holding steady...I thought it might be worthwhile reviving this poll. My guess is we'll see the ungraded and the PCGS graded 69 sets crack $5,500 once the mint completes their distribution.

The 70 First Strike set is holding steady. Dealers are controlling these prices refusing to sell below $15,500.00 much like the 1995 W. I doubt they will fall below these prices and will probably rise in the coming years.

I don't know if that is the right conclusion....People are buying them at these levels, and there aren't a lot of sellers! So far 121 DCAM-70s have been graded by PCGS. On eBay so far only 3 coins have traded individually, and 16 as part of sets, about 16% of those graded. Most collectors are holding on to these either for the long-haul or waiting for a spike in prices.

Only? If you go back a couple years in grading time and compare you'll find that 121 is a HUGE number. PCGS went through several years where they graded less than that for every proof series combined.

This is a very popular set and the sellers know it so if you look at ebay they are not lowering their prices to meet the demand. Eventually one will have to move and I'm betting it will be the buyers. Credit card bills have come and gone so sellers are now owners. 121 may be huge by comparison to random coins from past years but it is small compared to the market. Disclosure: I have one for sale so you're welcome to factor that into your value of my opinion.

What I really want to know is if there is any way to figure out what I voted in Oct to see how accurate I was...
