Surprised it doesn't say OMG! L@@K! OGH upgrade candidate. Dipped & retoned properly graded Bustie in a seldom seen 3rd gen PCGS holder if you’re into that kind of stuff.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
I had seen those in the past and thought they were fake, I never knew PCGS had used such an insert... I would think that if your in the "Trust us" game, you'd want your product to be instantly recognizable and not be tweeking it every couple of years.
<<<is there something special about the "doiley"???>>> It's an interesting slab that wasn't in production long. It was only used in Dec 1989. It is actually a 1st gen rattler holder with an added, separate frame around it allowing the slabs to be stacked, rather than the modern 1 piece slab with built in stacking guides.

bwuahahahahahahahaha!
this coin is NOT NEARLY that rare in au-58
that would be WAAAAYYYYY too much for the "coin", though i dunno what you were thinking the crappy "doiley" is worth.
This past March I paid $800 for a beautiful naturally toned PCGS AU58 at auction, but it was the 1836/1336. I figured the variety and special toning was worth an extra $350. I think I got a bargain.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
uh yeah, for the 1836/1336 of course that's worth a lot more, but a common 1836 in 58??? it's a $400 coin , & i don't care WHAT kind of plastic or stupid little doiley thing-ee it comes with.

Well, right now you could make a fine living buying coins like that for $400 from wherever it is that you get them, slabbing them as PCGS-58, and selling them for $800.

some people like to collect older versions of the plastic

Hammered at $986 !!!
Now that's what I call plastic premium
Buy the holder, not the coin.
It's actually a very difficult date to find
in a high grade condition.

Actually, that's around where PCGS AU-58 bust halves have been selling recently. Check recent auction records... surprising but true.

Insanity. I suppose this wouldn't have anything to do with Laura's publicly putting out an all points bulletin on PCGS AU58 Bust Halves would it?
Have to see the coin in hand first.
This is a very underated coin. Extremely
hard to find in this condition.
