Information needed: Poor Richard's Coin Almanac
I was just reading Numismatic News Oct. 17th issue and, on page 40, saw an illustration of a token issued by a publication called "Poor Richard's Coin Almanac." Cliff Mishler, current owner of the token, mentioned that he had never heard of the publication. Neither have I.
Judging from the appearance of the token it probably dates from the late 1940's or 1950's.
This is only the second numismatic publisher related token/medal I am aware of that was issued prior to 1960 (assuming that this was issued prior to that time.) The other is a 1907 piece issued by the "Numismatist."
Can anyone provide any information about "Poor Richard's Coin Almanac?"

All glory is fleeting.

<< <i>Could it just be a spoof of sorts on Franklin's "Poor Richard's Almanack" and perhaps maybe there never was an actual publication of the coin version? >>
The token is made of bronze and is good for fifty cents in trade. I suspect that it was issued by a real publication. During the 1950's and early 1960's coin boom there were many short-lived numismatic publications. This was probably one of them. My first exposure to a numismatic periodical didn't take place until early 1962 when my Boy Scout merit badge counselor gave me a copy of COIN WORLD. The publications from the 50's were ancient history to me.
