Countryside, IL Show for November and December

It appears the Countryside, IL (Chicago) show for November will be cancelled due to previous reservations made where they hold the show. However, the show organizer is planning on having a two day show (Saturday and Sunday) for December. He is going to increase the number of tables available and advertising trying to solicit some additional out-of-town dealers to attend.

Not surprising at all - high bourse fee, same dealers as in Lemont and Itasca (which are far better shows). This show is starting to lose steam fast, at least in my opinion. And the food there will make you sick (as some posters on this forum will tell you.)

Details please?
Stagnant inventory?
Unsavory dealers?
Stinky Joe?
I was pretty pleased with the coins I picked up there yesterday.
and they're cold.

The 2-day show planned for December will be a big flop - the wives will keep their husbands away from the show to do some major league Christmas shopping.
ILNA had their show there last month - the most common complaint from both dealers and collectors is that it was nothing more than a re-hased Countryside show. The thing is, they're right!
Dealer to Dealer wasn't horrible (for me), but far from great........ I think I did OK because I had material "fresh" to this venue......
It is the same dealers everytime for the most part....... Mainly with the same inventory........
Not to mention the same walk-ins....... More like a place where the same people congregate once a month.............
Saw a few walk-ins who obviously were looking for something to sell on Ebay..........
Very few (if any) people were searching out particulars....... They were window shopping.........
Overall walk-in traffic was VERY light........ Marty showed up, but the chicken didn't bother .........
And yes, the food leaves a lot to be desired.......
3 "DAMMIT BOYS"
4 "YOU SUCKS"
Numerous POTD (But NONE officially recognized)

Stinky Joe is at Lemont and Itasca also! Someone should call the EPA on him!!!
For good food... try Mangia Mangia on 55th St. between LaGrange Rd. and Brainard . Try the linguine w/mussels!

Lots of new walk-in customers as well. Bought a bunch and sold a bunch to tottally new people.
I'd say not too bad for a Sunday only show (5 hours worth)
It's all about attitude!!!!
Yes some old tire kickers, but what show doesn't have that.
As for bourse fees of $45, last I looked that is one of the cheapest shows around, so please explain to me why they would be called high!!! If that's high, what is cheap, and point me to those shows that I can do $30K for a bourse fee significantly less.
Yes the food sucks, but if you can't go 5 hours without eating, your getting FAT!!!

Who is "Stinky Joe"?
<< <i>I agree that Countryside beats out Itasca (NOISE). Far more elbow room at Countryside.

Is "Mangia Mangia" really good - never heard of it.

segoja and others - that is why you make some sandwiches and put them in one of those igloo coolers with some chips, and soda pop. And if someone complains, then tell them that you're on a special diet (reasons could be religious or heath - you can come up with something). Hey, its cheaper and you can have it your way without some goomba at burger king screwing up your order. Am i right?

Is he one of those guys who hasn't had a bath since Nixon resigned the presidency? Wait a minute - is he a heavy set guy who is always an early bird at the shows? I think I know who you're talking about. Speaking of people with bad odors - there was an old guy who was shows in downstate illinois back in the 90's who stunk up the room. Some fo the dealers refered to him as "Old Stinky" and when was anywhere near my table I had to hold my breath (which is no fun). Are these people so tight that they can't afford a bar of soap to take a bath with? Just goes to show why humanity is so fouled up.
