7over87over8 Posts: 4,733 ✭✭✭
Let's see - what is the percentage success for 70's on the 20th Anniversary Gold - Proof, Unc, Reverse Proof at PCGS.

Can anyone elaborate that has rec'd coins back or confirmed grades???????

I heard the success rate was relatively high - 6 of 10 for one dealer.....

With blind submissions there will probably be very few submitters getting back 70's but there may be many company affiliates with them in thier hordesimage

The reverse proofs account for most of the 70s. I think there have been no PR70DCAM regular proofs and I've only heard of a single MS70 coin; although, there are probably more.

I figured the REV PRF would have the highest % of 70's. I'd like to see some unc's hit 70 as well.

I dont think they know how to gradse that REV PRF yet. As you know - a 69 from a 70 is like splitting hairs - the 70 just has that flash or look about it. How do you judge that flash when you have a REV PROOF?

I'm sending two Rev Pr to PCGS that I think will be 70's, I'm hoping, as I don't see any flaws what so ever.

No Unc "W" or regular Proofs would stand a chance.

I'd like to add there are zero on the PCGS population report for regular proof 70.

    ---

    As of this morning,
    Reverse Proof 86 PR-69, 133 PR-70
    Regular Proof 178 PR-69, 12 PR-70
    BU-W 305 MS-69, 46 MS-70.

In other words, they're smooching the Reverse Proofs, and killing the other two.
