An E-Bay seller to avoid....
This is my first real dispute with an E-Bay seller in terms of money being sent but the actual item not being delivered. I am putting together a set of Sacagawea Dollars in a Dansco Album and was just missing the 2002-S proof coin. I looked around on E-Bay and saw a bunch of them there but with foolishly large BIN prices. I did, however, find an auction from the seller clickandship and decided to place a bid. I looked at his feedback and saw only two negatives from a while ago but didn't put much seriouness in that because every now and then some buyers exaggerate about something or complain because it took a bit more than two days to reach them.
I paid via PayPal on the 21st of September (The day after the auction ended) and received an e-mail saying "Payment received, coin will ship soon". Well, over two weeks have gone by and all of this seller's e-mail addresses are either phony, or 100% unresponsive. Today I went and looked at his feedback and saw a whole slew of negatives have been posted after I had made my payment. Feedback. Apparently this "person" has made it a habit of not sending the coins if the price of the final auction value isn't all that high. I'm now getting the impression that if he doesn't get the final value that he's looking for then he'll just take the payment but never ship.
As a result of this recent slew of theft, I decided to file a dispute with PayPal. (Based on the information above, that isn't to hastily of me to do that, is it?) Hopefully he'll see the dispute and decide to actually ship the item I bought. If not, I'll get my money back from him and hopefully get him thrown off of E-Bay.
I just wanted to let everyone else know about this theif in case they were looking for an inexpensive raw coin to fill out an album.
Edit: Basically, I just want to have the seller at least respond to e-mails or provide a valid phone number so that I'll know when the coin will be shipping. I don't care that I don't have the coin 2+ weeks after paying. I care that he won't even respond to let me know the current status of my coin.

Often times Paypal will rule in favor of the wronged party and recover no funds because the seller has removed the funds from their account.

BTW, he is similarly familiar to the E-BayID coinuts in terms of listing style, location, and high number of "failed to ship" complaints.
<< <i>that seller has 2194 items listed right now. he`s too busy listing to ship
I don't think he will be selling much with his recent feedback record.
edited to add: as for the non-communication, that's just how some, especially high volume, ebay sellers are. the use and e-mail account that they don't even check.
Edit: It's also odd that there are random positives in there from people who purchased things over the past few days and have received them. So some people are getting their coins while a lot of people aren't.
also file to get his contact information; phone number, address.
give him a call. make sure that he's got a working phon number.
maybe you can get some answers.
good luck!

Done that. The phone numbers he's provided either ring forever, or a message comes up stating that it is not a valid number. I've pretty much done everything but board a plane and pick up the coin myself.
<< <i>the fact that the phone numbers are bogus, or disconnected are quite disconcerting.
Actually, its a plus that his contact information is bogus.
Any feedback he leaves in retaliation can be removed on request!
This true...also funerals take up time especially if you have to travel, everything just gets put on-hold til you get back. If something is not done "quickly" you can stick a fork in this seller, he's done. But you know curiously on e-bay, people still keep buying these so-called good deals cuz they think they are getting something for next to nothing...only to find out that's what they got...nothing.

Invalid contact information is enough to get him NARU'd. File a complaint with eBay as well & shut this loser down.

My guess is something happened to the boss, and the business is not functioning properly. I think eventually the buyers will receive their goods.

That's because they are one and the same, and the guy does not have the best of reputations with dealers on the show circuit in my area.

<< <i>On his ME page it gives several emails, an ID address and phone number. Does nobody even answer those? Disconnected? One of the email addresses is kinda funny. problems@clickandship.net

Yeah, I've tried all the e-mail addresses and all the phone-numbers. The person/business seems to check their e-mail so that they can get their PayPal payments, but that's it. Never answers the phone and never responds to e-mails. I too am beginning to think that something happened to the seller, but in that instance he/she should at least have an automatic response to e-mails stating what the problem is, or have an answering machine message which would state that something has happened. I completely understand that things happen and cause people to delay the shipping, but it's the 100% lack of communication and response that kind of bothers me. Again, I'm just happy that it's only $15 for me and not $200+ like with some other buyers.
<< <i>In a similar case as yours, I contacted my Credit Card Co. and told them the story. They credited my account and went after paypal for the funds.
I'll keep that in mind. Again, it's only $15.00 so it's not like my life savings went into this one purchase. With the number of PayPal payments he must receive, I'm sure that at some point he'll have $15.00 in his account that he won't be getting.

That's why it is important to file a complaint with eBay of bogus contact info. It can get him NARUed and help prevent anyone else from sending money into the black hole.
