MS 64, lots of die wear and a bit of a weak strike keep it from a 65 in my opinion. Plus, there are a few tics here and there in the Indian's hair and the buffalo's shoulder.
Interesting colours for a buffalo. Looks like some nice album toning.
The Strike on this coin is Decent to just there. For 66 or 67 of this date and mint I would expect a better strike. MS 64 shot 65.... But I would call it a 64... Hits, strike etc... overtrump the luster. Now givin its toned I am sure it got bumped a grade point or 2. Would not suprise me if this was in a MS 66 holder.

I admittedly don't know squat about grading buffalos, but how can a coin be graded a 67 with that many hits and nicks on the buffalo's shoulder on the reverse???
Love the toning. Don't understand the technical grade.

It should not be if you ask me. It was bumped for the color and thats wrong!
My initial thought was 64 or 65, color notwithstanding. A 2-3 point bump for color? *bazookabarf*
IMO, the *market* should add or subtract for toning, bright white, or otherwise, not the grading company. It's supposed to be a techical grade, not an aesthetic one.
Why? Now you have a situation where the seller could say "Yeah, it's in a 67 holder, but look at that toning. It should bring 68/69 money" when in fact the coin already has received a multipoint bump for the toning.
(I'm not implying that the OP would do such a thing, but that it could happen when supposed technical grades already include bumps for color on some coins but not others).
Feh. I'll just stick with encapsulation for the sake of authenticity and coin protection. This whole point/registry mania is insane...

Might of got a bump for "eye appeal" so I'll say MS-65. I think the hits on the buffaloes shoulder keep it under 66.

Thanks for sharing.
However, I'd be more surprised if it graded MS65 than I would if it graded MS67, as it might have gotten a 2 point bump in grade for the color

I also love the fact that the Buff I just sent in for my freebie CC submission seemed a technical equal . . . but not a visual one.
