It's the only escrow site endorsed by eBay. I wouldn't hesitate to use it.... and only it.
I have seen scammers set up temporary escrow companies on the internet and then run big dollar items (5k-10K)on Yahoo auctions. Money gets sent to "escrow company" and then disappears a few days later. It happens all the time.
