    Someone who has more money than brains will buy it and love it, in fact- the money to brain ratio is probably a scary number.
    Some will defend it for the right reason-----"it's his/her money- spend it on whatever they want", but some yokums will defend it just because they are yokums----And yokums attract other yokums to agree with them-------funny when you sit back and try to figure out motives....
    Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

    They would never do anything like that....ever---in fact submissions are now probably down because no one else thinks PCGS has opened the door a crack and maybe THEY could get one thru also....image

    Full satin-like mint luster. Well struck. Stunning red surfaces. The ultimate certified grade. PCGS has certified this single example at this level. A truly outstanding modern rarity among Mint State Lincoln Cents as the sole representative from 1959 through 2003 to be certified at this impressive highest grade.

    Ha! Funny that they actually tried describing the coin itself before breaking down and getting into the certification drivel. Hilarious!

    I'd like to see in 10 years if this thing turns in the slab or not?

    Now, that would be an interesting strategy. Put an outrageous reserve on, it automatically will go there before the end, folks see that even if it doesn't sell, get a big number in their minds.

    Then put it on Heritage, people already know it's going to take a big number, maybe he gets it.

    I bet some "fool who wants to part with his money" will squander over $35K on it. How much did that Golde Eagle go for? The collector base is much larger for these cents.

    its only the holy grail of grading tags.. the coin itself is a 2003 cent like the billions of other 2003 cents.. some fool somewhere would probably pay moon money for a perfect bus token if pcgs graded it

    IMHO, this coin had to come from a mint set. It never was in a bag.
    PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
    I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

    Okay, I submit to all of you that it is NOT PERFECT... nothing is.

    But, I would challenge the world to find a finer specimen. One day, someone might slide that perfect strip of metal into a punch press and strike out a coin that is flawless from a brand new die and somehow escapes all that a coin is subject to from the release point of the machine and be smart enough and lucky enough to get it sent in without so much as a hairline in order to obtain an MS69.9*


    So condition rarity exists. Get over it !
    It's a fact !

    whether we agree on it's price which I think will probably be over what I first thought doesn't matter, but any true numismatist ought to be excited about such a find.
