Anyone think the UNC gold 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz might have potential? Since they're not in any of the anniversary sets, they don't have an initial mintage already allocated. And I would think most of the holiday purchases will be for the proof version.
<< <i>Will you KEEP or CANCEL your orders for the 2006-W ASE set, in light of the US Mint's announcement that they will offer 2006-W Unc's directly to the public for $19.95 as part of their Holiday Catalog?
The two coin set was always just a shot in the dark, due to the fast sellout of the 3-coin Gold.
Even though the Legacy set can be had for less if you buy each part, people still pay more for the set. I think the 2-coin set will hold its value and probably go up, but it's a lot of money to put on the line for a maybe.
Is it known FOR SURE that the single Gold & Silver Eagles that are now being sold seperately are the EXACT same coins, same finish and same mint mark as the coins in the 2 pc set?

Good question, and no, I don't think anyone can answer that question for sure just yet, unless you work for the mint I suppose.
Say what you will.... about the greed of those who have ordered the sets willing to take the risk to make some $$$ on them. I'm one of those. But.... the U.S. Mint has double or more the amount of greed.... by what they are now doing. Not to mention, that no-one knows how many sets, singles, etc., they will now need to order to ensure they will get a coin of each type (as mentioned in an earlier post, we do not know if the coins in the set, and the coins to be issued individually, are going to be the same finish, etc.).
ALSO... I'll say right now.... I have an uncomfortable feeling about the reverse proofs. Many are still banking on those to be limited in production.... but I have some doubts now. By what the Mint is doing, do NOT be surprised when they announce later the issuance of more of these (due to popular demand!). After all, they did not say the coins were limited to 10,000..... only the SETS were limited to 10,000..... be prepared.......

Any chance the single coins will be 2007?

I'm not cancelling yet, but I probably will.
Keep the 3-coin sets !!!
